I am grateful for a million opportunities to love and serve and I’m finding that there is hardly ever a moment to wonder, “Hmmm what should I do?”
There is always something to do! There’s
always a kid to hug, someone who needs help translating, plates of rice to be
set out, a coworker to encourage, a scrape that needs a band-aid, a letter for
a child to respond to, a situation to pray for...
Beyond the regular routine of things,
these last few weeks we have had high school teams here partnering with us in
construction projects and activities with the kids. It has been so encouraging
and exciting to see them invest in the ministry here. I have enjoyed hosting and getting to know them J
Caraballo also welcomed a summer intern
who will be with us for 5 weeks total. Karen and I are hosting her in our
apartment and it has been a JOY to have her live and minister with us. (Check
out her blog here: http://saralynnbelmer.wordpress.com )
Throughout the spring season, I’ve heard
many people say, “Just wait until summer- it gets so crazy! And I am finding
that to be true! It has been a crazy few weeks. Crazy good, crazy fun, crazy
busy, crazy challenging. Starting the team host role has been new for me so in
some ways I feel like I did when I first got here in October…trying to figure
out my new role and how to do my best in it. It keeps me really dependent on
Christ as I look to him every moment for guidance.
In this team hosting, I have been doing
lots of driving, which I really don’t mind. It’s a good time to pray and sing.
I was listening to this All Sons and Daughters song called I need You. The
lyrics really resonated with me. Oh Jesus, how I need you…Let my life be for
your glory…woven in your threads of grace…Make the way bright before me…In your
light I will find all I need…
I praise the Lord and thank him for his
constant help in all my months here, but especially in these last few weeks.
What a treasure that he gives us his perfect help in our time of need when we
call out to Him.

Glad to hear what you are doing and the way God is meeting you this summer. Blessings to you Emily, may you continue to be refreshed by the author of love and refreshment. You are a blessing to us and all God is doing through you.
